The inspiration behind the story

Written after losing a dog. Finished after losing Gammie.

This book was inspired by a loving dog, a Gammie gone too soon, and a toddler with a million questions about heaven. The story was written after losing a sweet dog, but the book was fully created after losing a beloved grandmother, and needing to answer a four-year-old's questions about death.

While the theme is dogs, we hope this story about heaven can be a tool for families working through any loss. Dogs are most certainly the best messengers for a heavy-hearted topic.
